Mistress Deirdre is not only our resident punker here at our fabulous blog, she’s also our “Girl Friday“.   She does everything the rest of us don’t want to do, including but not limited to: handling our email, handling our regular mail, running our contests (when we have them), returning phone calls, doing all kinds of important business stuff, scheduling our appointments, and getting the rest of us meatheads into conventions.  When she’s not doing that, she can generally be found covering stories about geek culture.  This is especially true if a story has anything to do with steam punk, oil punk, cyberpunk, regular punk, or deeply embarrassing examples of cosplay.

Acea The Game Dude would like you to know, first and foremost, that his name is pronounced “Ace-uh”.  In theory, he’s supposed to be covering the latest trends and developments in video games.  In reality, he generally ignores insignificant things like “breaking news”, and instead covers really important things like “some really funny crap I found on YouTube”.  A study in contrasts, Acea’s love of games is kept in perfect balance by his deep abiding hatred of anything with elves in it.

Jeff The Sci-Fi Guy is our Editor-in-Chief, and the El Queso Grande around here in general.  He got to this position because he is the only person on our team that actually knows anything about running a website.  Since he would hold his breath, stomp his feet, and pull the site offline every time he didn’t get his way, we figured we might as well make him the boss.  His love of robots, ninjas, pirates, zombies, orcs, horror and, of course, sci-fi makes him handy around these parts.  The fact that he’s grouchy and drinks a lot only adds to his charm.

Stinkerbelle The Geek Girl combines her sharp-tongued wit with her uncanny ability to find the nerdiest, quirkiest, and most unusual news bits each day.  A prolific writer, her knowledge of all things geekish is uncanny.  Equally uncanny is her ability to suddenly vanish out of our offices for hours at a time, doing heaven-knows-what.  She calls this “field research”, and says it’s “pure coincidence” that this happens whenever it looks like she’s going to get an assignment she doesn’t want to do.

Who doesn’t enjoy a bit of humor while playing a little Call of Duty, TF2, or Halo?  Well, our boy Str8fe sure provides plenty of laughs!  Whether it’s yelling “BOOM HEADSHOT!” incredibly loudly into the mic, camping your spawn point for hours, or tea bagging your corpse every single time you die, Str8fe will sure have you smiling and enjoying your play time as much as possible.  In fact, other players absolutely love Str8fe’s expert use of repeated taunts, his willingness to use exploits and bugs to his advantage, and the unending trash talk he uses to keep everyone in stitches.  Oh yes, they sure adore Str8fe.  They show their appreciation for Str8fe by calling him really unusual and affectionate names, and by telling him ever more creative jokes about his mom.   Super fun!

Thankfully, Str8fe brings his enthusiasm for FPS games (and everything else an alpha geek enjoys) to our little blog.  His knowledge of gaming news and current events is unequaled, as is his ability to poke fun at, well, nearly everything.

MoonGirll, our intern around these parts, has all the enthusiasm you’d expect from a newbie – she’s perky, she’s eager to learn, she’s willing to please, and she’s hungry to succeed.  As you’d expect from our highly scrupulous staff, we take all these positive qualities and utterly abuse them.  When she’s not picking up our dirty socks, giving us pedicures, and running out to pick up yet another round of caramel macchiatos, we make her write for us.

Of course, we make MoonGirll do all her writing on a Commodor 64.   Can’t make things too easy on these kids.  They come to expect everything to be just handed to them.
