Mike Leyde, an independent contractor from California, decided he was going to be bored for the next few years, and decided he would start playing the same Bejeweled 2 game, consecutively. Overall he stacked up 2,205 hours and 51 minutes of game play over the 3 years he had been playing. Epic.

He collected 4,872,229 gems and earned the game’s highest calculable score of 2,147,483,647. At that point, he got what arcade gamers would call a ‘kill screen’.

Why does Mike love bejeweled? Well this is what he said…

“Bejeweled and many of the other PopCap games are like never-ending puzzles, a great challenge for the mind and a great source of satisfaction for a challenge overcome.”

Seems like a man of few words.

Some years ago, a pretty funny movie, and probably the best thing in Lohan’s career came out that was written by Tina Fey called Mean Girls. Now, back to current day. A game developer has decided to capitalize on the popularity of the film… Six years later, and are releasing a new title on the Nintendo DS.

The hilarity doesn’t start there though, as apparently Lohan is even embarrassing to a 3rd-rate video game publisher that makes games based off movies six years after the movie came out. They snubbed Lohan, the star of the film, and removed her from the cover of the game entirely, replacing her with the 3 ‘antagonists’ of the movie.

It’s clearly just a marketing move, but you know you’ve hit rock bottom when 3rd party content developers are too good for you.

The Cassini spacecraft, which is flying in outer-space right now taking pictures of the Saturn Moon Mimas, took some temperature pictures recently and discovered Pac-Man has been hiding there all along. Even Scientists think it’s weird;

Other moons usually grab the spotlight, but it turns out Mimas is more bizarre than we thought it was. It has certainly given us some new puzzles.

There’s a lot more technical talk to go along with why they think it looks like this, but does it matter? It’s clearly Pac-Man going for a power-up.

While browsing the vast and amazing web, I cam across an interesting pic. For an unknown reason other then laughs, someone with apparently nothing better to do, has rendered our favorite Left 4 Dead characters ‘thrillin’ it up.

It’s… Kinda creepy, actually.

The Internet truly has never ending possibilities of weirdness and strange services, and it’s not going to end anytime soon. Now for the first time ever, Lonely nerds wishing to play games with pretty ladies now have had their dreams answered.

The new service Gamecrush offers a service where for $8.25 you can purchase 500 ‘credits’. You can use said credits to play a game online with a girl, and even video chat. One game session lasts anywhere from 6-10 minutes. You’re left with 100 ‘credits’ that you can ‘tip’ the girl, if you so wish.

The service attributes the cost to the same thing as, ‘buying a girl a drink.’ Of course, whether or not the girl you’re supposedly playing with is Real is probably the biggest question. There’s flash games and Xbox 360 titles to play currently, with Playstation 3, Wii, and World of Warcraft support coming in the future.

Will it pick up? Hard to say… But considering their servers have already been overwhelmed with requests, it may be a good time to start your investing…

Just when you thought Wii peripherals couldn’t get to be anymore ridiculous, we are graced with the beautiful Wii Soft Football.

There’s been a lot of crap like this in the past, and it’ll only continue as Wii sales continue to be pretty substantial.

There isn’t much to say about this. I mean…. Look at it. It’s horrifying. I can’t imagine a much more useless piece of plastic. The creator’s had this to say about it;

“This soft, realistic accessory, allows you to imitate crucial motions a virtual football game requires,” reads CTA’s product page, calling it “the first [Wii peripheral] of its kind to be fashioned after a squishy, backyard tossing, foam football.”

Yeah… Really.

Sadly, I can’t see this working better then you’re regular Wiimote, especially since the Wii doesn’t really look for all that precise movements anyways. I’m sure this won’t be the last of the failed Wii Peripherals.

It can really ruin your Saturday night when you get pwned by a buddy you know you’re better then because of cheap trickery… But sometimes things can get carried away, especially in Chinese internet cafes. Beware, graphic image contained.

Getting revenge is always something that also comes to mind when dealing with cheaters, however this man is borderline homicidal  as he clearly took things way too far.

The argument was apparently between Counterstrike players, who haven’t been told there are new FPS shooters out there, at a Chinese internet cafe. They apparently don’t screw around when it comes to cheating, as one cheater felt a foot-long knife enter his skull for the deeds. He did survive, luckily. Against chances like one in ten thousand, which are the apparent chances of surviving knife-head wounds.

Hopefully he’ll reconsider before using wall hacks again.
