Mike Leyde, an independent contractor from California, decided he was going to be bored for the next few years, and decided he would start playing the same Bejeweled 2 game, consecutively. Overall he stacked up 2,205 hours and 51 minutes of game play over the 3 years he had been playing. Epic.

He collected 4,872,229 gems and earned the game’s highest calculable score of 2,147,483,647. At that point, he got what arcade gamers would call a ‘kill screen’.

Why does Mike love bejeweled? Well this is what he said…

“Bejeweled and many of the other PopCap games are like never-ending puzzles, a great challenge for the mind and a great source of satisfaction for a challenge overcome.”

Seems like a man of few words.

Here’s a video with screen shots of his geeky accomplishments. I want to compliment Mr. Leyde while at the same time, I’m not sure if I should. Good job Mike!
No surprise there. With that being said, I certainly wouldn’t want it’s cannons aimed at me. Take a peek!
