Hard information about the upcoming Tron Legacy has been hard to come by. In fact, it’s made me doubt that the film is 1) really in production, or 2) very bad. Then suddenly, Disney releases (without warning, mind you) this fantastic trailer, making us all wet in our naughty bits to see this film.

Check it out for yourself. Even if you weren’t a fan of the original (or were too young to remember it), this will make you salivate.

This is quite a music video. The video is a set of snappy clips from the various Terminator films, and the music is similarly composed of sounds exclusively found in the killer robot series of movies. While, generally speaking, “sound effect” music sucks like a gigantic space Hoover, this one is actually quite catchy. And, of course, it features lots of classic Schwarzneggar action.

I found this extremely entertaining – it’s a video by production house Humble, and it’s about the spontaneous generation of several homunculi. Of course, not all of these little creatures are good, and some conflict results. Bloody, nasty, over-the-top violence. (You’ll probably love it as much as I did…muahahaha.)

iPhone Controlled Helicopter Thingies

At CES this past week, there were a fair number of doohickeys (and yes, that is a technical term) that were designed to be controlled via the iPhone. I’m not sure why, exactly, but a good number of technical people have seemed to simultaneously developed this exact same idea, and presented it at CES.

I’m not sure how I feel about this. First off, the control scheme seems a little awkward to me. However, this may be offset by the whole James Bond factor. You know, attach a machine gun or a chain saw to it, and the whole remote controlled killer hover death machine thing is just cool. (Now I just have to find myself a machine gun.)

Bill Murray, As A Ghost, in GhostBusters 3

There are lots of rumors and speculation about GhostBusters 3 – the sequel to the 1984 comedy classic – being in the works. Well, it seems that the latest bit comes from an unusual source, and may be an accidental slip. Sigourney Weaver was interviewed on British TV about her upcoming movie, Avatar. The interviewer managed to ask her a few questions about GB3 and, much to everyone’s surprise, the veteran actor dished. She confirmed the movie is going to happen, and she’s read the script, though she’s not sure she’ll actually be in it. She is sure Bill Murray is in it, however, and he’ll be playing a ghost.

This is obviously way, way better than the iPhone. I don’t even understand what the heck Mr. German Announcer Guy is saying, but I know this thing is the coolest thing since…well, since frakkin’ *EVAR*.

I’m going to buy two, and load all my old VCR tapes and floppy disks onto them, just because I can.

Ghost Busters, Played on Tesla Coils

Tesla coils, oddly, make decent musical instruments. It seems that nearly anything can be played on Tesla coils, so if you happen to have a pair of these lying around, feel free to compose a little something. Who’d have ever imagined that artificial lightning could make such lovely music? In this fine example, we see them playing the classic theme to Ghost Busters.

Watch and be amazed.
