At the core of many, many geeky things is Dungeons and Dragons. I mean, the game was the start of the whole RPG/MMO genre, it gave us the stereotype of fat, unwashed nerds living in momma’s basement, and it brought Tolkeinesque fantasy to life like nothing else. In other words, it’s pure geeksauce.

And now, for the very first time, you can listen in while some classic nerds play D&D. These are not just any nerds mind you, but uber nerds. The players include Gabe and Tycho (they’re the guys that write the Penny Arcade comic, and put on the PAX gaming convention), and Wil Wheaton, who played Wesley Crusher on the Star Trek: TNG television series.
All this fat, pasty, unwashed joy comes in the ubiquitous MP3 format, which you can download or listen to live right here.

I wasted so many hours of my life on that game…but it wasn’t like I had a life anyway.

I’m surprised that they didn’t charge money for this experience.
