Some random nerdy news for the evening… There is an official casting call for the upcoming J. R. R. Tolkien Hobbit movie, produced by Peter Jackson and set to be directed by Guillermo del Toro (Pan’s Labyrinth, Hellboy 2). Hooray! Hopefully this is a step in the right direction, and it won’t be too many years before we see Bilbo running around battling awesome things like the Dragon Smaug.
So all you would-be hobbit and dwarf actors out there, get cracking.
On a completely separate, but perhaps equally entertaining note… EA Sports is said to be bringing back the classic NBA Jam exclusively to the Nintendo Wii. We can only hope the big heads, flaming nets, and awesome announcer will be making a comeback.
Naturally, we’ll keep you posted on Hobbit and NBA Jam developments, wow that sounded weird together. With that being said, J. R R. Tolkien looks pretty badass with a pipe.
