This video is an old CBS news report about a new, growing phenomenon. Called ‘The Internet’, it brought people together, and gave them a sense of community. All without cursing, swearing, trolling, or flaming. It was surprisingly polite. So, yeah, it was just like the modern internet. 
Probably the most amusing part of this news piece is the sense of awe and wonder this whole new idea seems to evoke in the reporter.

Actually the best part is when he starts talking about how nice people are on the Internet and that anonymity doesn’t cause them to be dickweeds.
Yeah, “Everyone is so nice” kind of stuff. Wowza. That just blew me away.
I’m pretty sure that it’s safe to say that the internet is still strange.
