Hell Houses aren’t your typical haunted house/maze.  Sure, like other haunted houses, they pop up every Halloween and, for a small price, you can wind your way through the scary rooms full of horrors.  However, Hell Houses put a bit of spin – a fundamentalist spin – on the whole haunted house idea.  A demonic figure leads you through each room of the house, and there are visual object lessons for sinners at every turn.  The whole idea, obviously, is to get sinners to turn from the evil way they live in modern society and embrace the distinctly fundamentalist formula for salvation.  (As a person with some religious proclivities myself, I find their message more than a bit off base.)

The quality of the production is actually quite high, but the lessons are just a wee bit over the top.  At a rave, one of the actors actually says of a passed out young woman, “She’s out.  Come on, let’s rape her.”  And a whole room full of willing males gather round her to do the deed.

Anyway, enjoy the vid embedded below.  It’s totally worth watching, and will have you shaking your head and laughing, sometimes at the exact same time.
