This is actually a truly bizarre test of the durability of the hard drives inside Lenovo laptops, and it’s so over the top, it’s funny.  Instead of testing the hard drives in a lab, or via some conventional means (dropping them off a building, for example), they rigged up an authentic trebuchet and fired them across a large field.  Then they pried the hard drives out of the utterly destroyed laptops, and tested them.

On bizarro world, all this makes perfect sense.
