MMO Weekly – The High, High Cost of Playing WoW

Over at our sister site IncGamers, our own editor, Pig, does a little math.  He calculates how much money he has personally spent on Blizzard products overall, and on WoW in particular.

This is easily the most interesting math-related article I’ve read in a long, long time.  The amount of money involved is simply astounding.  You can check it out yourself – you won’t be disappointed – right here.

Heh, whilst 4500 seems like a lot, I’m sure if ppl toted up their favourite hobby/pasttime it wouldn’t be too disimilar, be it books, films, sports etc.
It’s about 6 to 8 GBP a movie here in the UK so to see a movie twice a month would make it 840 GBP over 5 years. Plus if you were really into the movie, the DVDs would follow along with T-Shirts, posters etc.
    Honestly, I don’t think it’s that much!
Oh and did ya factor in how many machine upgrades there were over 5 years? hehe, only kidding …you upgraded to feed your Crysis/Far Cry fix!
