Aion and Champions Online Going Gold!

Just as the summer winds down for its end, MMO developers champions_logohave decided to curse your new school year or next fiscal quarter with 2 new releases. Say goodbye to that hard-earned sleep.

Champions Online has gone gold and is slated for it’s release date of September 1st. Here’s their pretty little press release.

“Champions Online brings epic heroism back to the MMORPG with fast-paced, epic combat. A boundless character creator takes the experience to the next level; players can even choose the appearance and style of their powers to complete their vision! A unique Nemesis system also lets players tap into a powerful customization tool to craft their own enemy, an ultimate adversary who will appear throughout a hero’s career.”

Think you miaionscreenshot07ght be satisfied pretending to be a super hero and killing stuff? Well, if you weren’t, you can always decide to go the way of the new Fantasy-MMO Aion which is slated for release in the US as of September 22nd. Aion is a Korean-based MMO developed by NCSoft. Here’s a snippet from their press release;

“Unlike any MMO before it, Aion is a uniquely crafted online experience where flight offers much more than just a way to explore the landscape – it is a strategic and integral part of combat, quests, and exploration. Players will dive into battle and plunge through thousands of unique, story-driven quests, all while trying to save a world literally shattered in half from centuries of brutal conflict.”

Exciting! Looks like September is gonna be a busy month and only time will tell what these titles will bring to the table upon release. Will they unseat the king? Probably not… But that doesn’t mean they don’t have the ability to drain precious amounts of our free time. We’ll keep you posted! You can check out Aion here and Champions here.

    Aion is definitely Korean with an American twist, you can easily grasp what I meant if you tried the beta yourself. Hats off to the graphics, yeah man, it’s visually stunning! Nice gameplay, I’m now thinking of giving up WoW to make way for this much-anticipated game.
