Fallout 3 LARPers Do The Impossible – Make LARPing Actually Cool

We covered the construction of a Fallout 3 ‘Brotherhood of Steel’ costume in the past, but it seems a group of Russian cosplayers has taken things to a whole new level.  They organized and played a rather large game at a decommissioned missile silo, outside of St. Petersburg, that lasted several days.  The game had a rather extensive back story, the town (somehow) had its own radio station and bar, and 300 people showed up in costume to play.

I can’t say I understand anything else.  The site documenting this LARPing extravaganza is all in Russian and, to be honest, my Russian is a little rusty.  Thankfully, they provide an illuminating English translation.  Here’s a nice snippet:

Most of gamers may know the “Fallout” game series. First two parts of the game:Fallouttacticts and new Fallout 3 with a lot of addons. New California World that hasbeen destroyed by enemy nuclear missiles and dangerous charm radioactive desertare wondered a lot of people. Role polygon games are made on this gamesmotives.Everyone can feel himself like a Emptiness liver. Countrymans, garrisontowns, reiders, scientists, Brotherhood of Steel, and NKR rangers – there is nolimit for fantasy. Role game is world, created by you, and you forget your name on a few days to be an another man on a new world of role polygon game with it dangersand hardness.

Ok, enough of all that.  Here’s some pics from the event.  A rather large series of others can be found right here
