The delays continue… Our good ‘ol Pig recently spoke about Champions Online hitting the inevitable delayed release date. Next, it looks like like Jumpgate Evolution is up next. For mostly the same reasons, it appears the games instances and PVP system are not on the level they would like them to be.
An official for NetDevil, the developer, had this to say on their forums;
“Nowadays, massively multiplayer online games have a highly competitive market and a less-than-stellar release can be the end of a title before it starts. Our passion for this game means we want to release it in a state that is complete.”
Jumpgate seems like it really could fit in a good niche market and looks like it’s going to have some really nice features. However, they are right in delaying for we all know what happens when you have a bad launch. A bad launch can all but kill you when you’re competing against the heavy weights. Jumpgate has a battle in store for it, competing with WoW in the MMO market in general, and of course, EVE.
The delay is, “for the next several months.”
