Operating Pip Boy 3000

Ok, Fallout 3 fanbois and fangurls, this one’s for you.  A Fallout 3 fan named ‘LarpPodcast’ (his real name is Joe Carter, from Nebraska) combined the simulated plastic Pip Boy 3000 (available as an Amazon exclusive when the game first released) with his, um, Sony iTouch, to produce a nicely functional, working Pip Boy 3000, just like in the game.

Ok, ok, before you go all apoplectic, we’re pretty sure ol’ Joe really meant that he installed his Apple iPod Touch into the plastic Pip Boy case, since Sony doesn’t make that particular product.  Also, the functionality his modded Pip Boy displays is the same as that of the Touch.

Overall, this is a pretty darned fun mod.  We also took a peek at LarpPodcast’s other videos, and we learned that he’s all about some fun, geeky stuff.  Obviously, as the name implies, he’s into Larping and role-playing, and most of his vids are of that, for all it’s painful-to-watch geekery.  He’s also uploaded a few other vids, all geek related, and all good fun.  Here’s his Pip Boy vid:

For your viewing enjoyment, we’ve embedded a few other of LarpPodcast’s videos after the jump.  :)

This next vid appears to be some Omaha LARPers engaged in some combat. The costumes are horrid – well, actually, they’re nonexistent – but there’s a surprising number of women getting down here.

And, in this video, we see a dude dressed up as a cat, wearing a dress, giving awards to other cosplayers. Truly, this is epic geekery:

More of LarpCosplay’s videos can be found here.
