New GTA Inspired MMO?

APB is an MMO is currently in production that seems to be trying to bridge the gap between Grand Theft Auto and traditional MMOs. The game is about warring factions of criminals and police officers (of which you can be either) who are battling for control of a common day metropolis-like city. The game has one of the worst titles of all time, apparently entitled All Points Bulletin, or APB. The  design lead of the gamer is turns out to be David Jones, the original creator behind GTA.

The similarities between GTA and APB are obvious.  Jones has hired away a number of people who’ve worked on prior GTA titles.  This week, there are now even insider rumors surfacing that the developers are trying to sell the game to Rockstar so it can be sold as ‘GTA Online’. Of course Realtime Worlds, the developer of APB, is denying this for whatever reason it is that developers like to be secretive.  We’ll keep you updated as to whether this rumor grows legs.

You can check out a trailer below which has car chases and gun battles. Yes!
