Playstation Price Cut

Sony today announced that they’re cutting the price on the Playstation, which was considered by most industry analysists to be smart move.  Sony’s console was simply too expensive, even with price reductions last year, to compete with the cheaper Wii and XBox 360.  A price reduction, nearly everyone agreed, would boost sales of the PS3 significantly.

Then the analysts were suddenly dumbfounded to learn that the price cut wasn’t on the still-overpriced PS3.  The price reduction was on the PS2.  Those are now selling for $99.

Good move, Sony.  Very savvy.  This will improve things dramatically.  ;)
