Hot Links, with Some WTF on the Side

One: PETA, the people for the ethical treatment of animals (or “ethical” eco-terrorists and the mass-murderers of animals, depending on your perspective) are protesting the poor treatment of dogs in Call of Duty, World at War.  (Dogs can attack people, and be shot in the game).  Their protest consisted of sending a copy of Nintendogs over to the Activision Blizzard corporate offices.

Two: NickisConfused has released his adorable pictures of his AT AT house pets to the public.  They feature his AT AT playing with his cat, scratching to get outside, looking out the window, and doing other cute, pet-like things.

Three: There’s an alternate reality game (ARG) starting in in Playstation’s Home.  It’s called Xi, and it begins when PS3 users, wandering around the Home virtual reality gamespace, discover an unusual piece of graffiti.  This is the first clue, and starts PS3 owners off what is promised to be a fun alternate reality game.  Of couse, this is a highly unusual use of the ARG concept, since those games take place in meatspace, and the entirety of Xi takes place in a virtual universe, Home.

Four: There’s a lawsuit, filed this week, that says that Best Buy’s price matching policy is exactly the opposite – an anti-price matching policy.  Apparently, managers have been given formal training in how to avoid matching any prices customers might request.  According to the suit, it’s just a big fat lie to get you, the customer, into the store, where Best Buy won’t match any prices whatsoever.  Oh, and there’s proof.

Five: And finally, an interview with Afro Ninja.
