In a recent forum thread over at Battle.net, a discussion arose about the DIII monster nicknamed the ‘Thousand Pounder’. The Thousand Pounder is a boss mob that makes an unusual entrance into the game, first appearing as a skeleton, then adding muscles and flesh (lots and lots of flesh) until he’s a huge, fat, dual-wielding menace. One player even commented on the fact that the Thousand Pounder reminded him of the Stay Puft marshmallow man.
Things got a bit interesting when Blizzard community manager Bashiok piped in with an ‘official’ screenshot, proving the Stay Puft theory was correct. He then added a nice shot of the game’s unicorn class (remember that controversy?), using their special ‘rainbow attack’.
Nicely played, Bashiok. Attached are some screens of the Pounder, the unicorn’s rainbow attack, and other related errata.
