A random collection of quirky, game-related oddness. Enjoy!
Three versions of the 80 billion ISK ripoff in EVE Online can be found here, here, and here. While EVE is full of ripoffs and scams, that amount of in-game currency translates into many thousand dollars in real world currency should the thief choose to convert it.
- Speaking of EVE, how about a tale of how the Goonswarm (probably the most hated alliance in all of EVE) survived a massive onslaught by their enemies. It’s inspirational, if you can forget that Goonswarm is a bunch of very naughty boys.
- A gallery of game weapons can be found right here. They’ve got a nice collection of killing implements, from Arthas’ Sword, to Gears of War’s Lancer (looooove the chainsaw bayonette), to FF VII’s Buster sword, to the Portal gun, as well as weapons from Assassin’s Creed, Halo (even a full mockup of the Warthog seen above), and lots of others.
- If you’re interested in a cute little diversion, try Jetset. It’s an iPhone game (in-depth review here) in which you play a TSA employee, searching passengers and screening out all the disallowed items (and flexing with the TSA’s ever-changing rules) before they get onto the plane.
