Happy 23rd Birthday, Paul Barnett!

It’s Paul Barnett’s birthday (ok, maybe not his 23rd, but a happy day nonetheless), and that means he’s posting a new video detailing all the most recent improvements to Warhammer Online.  By no means is this a complete list, but there is still a lot going on behind the scenes, and quite a number of upgrades to the game are in the works.  Of course, since Paul cannot do anything in a non-silly fashion, he brings in guest speakers and threatens people and other whatnot.  What we’ve learned:

  • The fix to the recent crashing problems (which involved teleporting lowbies far away from keeps when the zone became too crowded) is working.
  • This fix is considered an interim necessity, and may not be the final solution to the problem.
  • The server Dark Crag is still having problems, though they are reduced.  (The server is cursed, but they’re working on uncursing it).
  • Client side crashes are also severely reduced.
  • Someone sent Paul a letter listing all the reasons that he sucks.
  • Small fixes – like the ability to send multiple objects through the mail at the same time – are in the works.

These vids are, quite frankly, exceptionally enlightening as well as amusing.  Although Paul can’t say anything without throwing a bit of humor in (and that’s why we love him so…), the overall feel he imparts (that Mythic is working constantly to make the game better and better) comes right through.  Good stuff.
