The Army, WAR, ARGs, and TOR

A few quirky stories from around the ol’ intertubes:

The U.S. Army has set up a new kind of recruiting station (it’s still experimental) in a mall near Philadelphia.  The facility is a luxurious video gaming center, complete with several customized games.  Headlining the show is a game, in a seperate room, in which players firing M16s from the back of a mockup Humvee at several large screens.  Of course, the idea is to get you to sign up.

Mental Floss has great write-up detailing some of the current Alternate Reality Games that are cropping up lately.  If you haven’t ever played an ARG, give it a try.  (Think of ARGs as MMOs, except in real life.)

WAR’s grab bag is up, and it’s full of Warhammery goodness (as always).

The official TOR site has released some concept pics of the aliens to be featured in the game.  Deliciously Star Warsy.
