Their World Wide Invitational Tournament (the cool kids call it the WWI) starts tomorrow in Paris, and the world waits with baited breath to find out what the big announcement by Blizzard will be. Will it be a WotLK beta date? Perhaps even a WotLK release date? A new Warcraft RTS game? A resurrected Starcraft: Ghost? Or…dare we even dream it…Diablo III?

Earlier this week we covered the latest, and best, information we had regarding the upcoming announcement by Blizzard. Our associates over at Diabloii.net advised us that they’d learned, though sources, that the announcement will, in fact, be Diablo III. We talked to our comrades and were able to confirm that their information was pretty darned solid. It’s the next best thing to hearing it first hand.

Well, now we’ve gone one better. We have some very solid information from another source that the game will, in fact, be Diablo III. How do we know? I can only say that 1) the source is extremely reliable, and 2) the source is very definitely in a position to know. (To reveal more is to damage the source, so that’s as much as we can blab. Sorry!) This is as close as we can come without seeing it firsthand, and we’re extremely confident it’s accurate.

So there you have it:? Blizzard’s next game will be Diablo III.
